Self Catering Holiday Rental Accommodation
Travel abroad has exploded in recent years. However, there are still plenty of absolutely fantastic places to explore in the United Kingdom, especially if you want an action-packed holiday. In this article we are going to take a little look at the various types of holiday accommodation and rental that you are going to have available to you if you opt for self catering accommodation.
If there is one type of holiday accommodation out there which is classed as traditional it would be the good old holiday park. They existed in some form or another for many years, but Butlins and Haven completely changed the concept. The self catering accommodation that you will be staying in at these parks will most likely be a chalet or a caravan. Many of them are going to be located incredibly close to some of the best tourist locations in the United Kingdom. However, most of the time you won’t even have to leave the park. There will be plenty of food options on the park for you to sample, and there will be entertainment almost every single night during the high season. This really is the home of cabaret. In my opinion, this is one of the best places to travel if you have young children as there are a lot of safe activities for them to engage in, with some of the best children’s entertainers in the country. These are ‘must visit’ places for all UK families, it is almost a right of passage.
If you have a slightly older family then you can perhaps opt for self catering accommodation in a hotel. This isn’t the most popular of holiday rentals for long term stays out there as it can get very expensive. However, it is a fantastic way to go if you are looking for a bit of luxury and want to be located right in the heart of some of the best tourist destinations in the country.
In recent years the idea of cottages as a form of holiday accommodation has exploded. They are ideal for serving as holiday rentals for much larger families who want a holiday which is a little bit different from the norm. Many of these cottages are privately owned which means the owner takes a lot of care in the property. In addition to that, the prices are very affordable. If you want a cottage in a particularly busy destination then make sure that you book in advance.
Lodges are also fantastic for holiday rentals. These are located deep within wood locations and they offer something a little bit different, slightly more unique. They are great for larger families and those that require a little bit of peace and quiet on their holiday. These tend be located in places such as the New Forest.
Finally, houseboats seem to be very popular in the UK as a form of holiday accommodation. Although of course there are only a few places where you can do this. They are a great way to have a holiday which is a little bit different from the norm, although it is ideal only for slightly older children as they can really appreciate how fantastic this type of holiday is.
Next time you are planning a holiday, why not look into the various options available out there in the United Kingdom for self catering accommodation? Much of what you encounter will be better than travelling abroad, and often much cheaper as well!
